At Spányi Partners, we not only focus on our ongoing projects, but also on other community-building and inspiring events. We would like to report on these in a short summary.
Judging by the number of LinkedIn clicks, our spring team building trip was undoubtedly our most popular event and it’s no exaggeration to say that it was our best company event in recent months. This year we visited the Kőröshegyi Valley Bridge inside and out to have a little professional part of the trip, then we continued with team-building games in the Somogy Garden Resort Village and relaxing together.
But there were of course perhaps more important events and happenings in the professional world…
LECTURES, TRAINING, COMPANY VISITS
Our internal lecture series, launched in January, provides a weekly opportunity for colleagues to learn from each other and share their experiences. Thinking together is a pillar of our community and our values, and our weekly meetings are all about discussing situations from the previous week, lessons learned, solutions, sharing experiences and expanding our collective knowledge base. With the internal lecture series, we also want to reinforce this knowledge sharing, in the past months we have been given insights into topics such as flat roof insulation, building automation, solar panels or requirements for handover documentation.
We have also hosted external presentations and training sessions on ESG – Practical approaches to corporate sustainability or, for example, on Lean Management philosophy to the construction industry.
From then on, we have participated as moderators or speakers in a number of professional events, such as:
– BuildEXT presentation – Leading Designers in the Digital Age,
– Portfolio Conferences Construction 2025 – Mechanical Engineering, the Soaring Field of Construction,
– Hungarian Chamber of Engineers and Construction Section roundtable discussion – The Role and Challenges of Technical Inspectors,
– Bratislava Property Forum 2025 – Investment opportunities and challenges in the real estate market,
– 91st General Assembly of the CEEC (Conseil Européen des Economistes de la Construction) ,
– Proptech Hungary Conference – BIM the transparency of the real estate market – who is driving the development?
We also received an award at the Proptech Hungary Conference, the ÉKTRWe were nominated for the Proptech Pioneer Awards – Dot Ball, which is for those who connect the dots of the real estate market with innovation, data-driven, alignment. And we won it!
We also always take part in informal programmes that give you an insight into production processes and technologies. In the first half of the year, two of our colleagues went to Attendorn, the Viega Group’s training centre and factory, a small group of us visited Ostorházi Bevonattechnik, and we will soon be going on a factory trip to the NAGÉV Group to learn about galvanising technologies and professional requirements.
ENGINEER’S EXPERIENCE
We have strengthened our links with the Budapest University of Technology and the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences, and launched the Engineer’s Experience programme, which aims to show the next generation of professionals that engineering is not just a career at the drawing board. We had our first open day at the office on 9 May and received very positive feedback. The initiative will continue in September and we are currently preparing our summer internship programme.
Sometimes it’s good to pause for a moment and look back at these events, we have had a busy and exciting few months.
