The expansion of Dr Rose Private Hospital started in August 2024. The investor’s key expectation was to build a facility that would not only meet the highest medical technology standards, but also enhance the high quality of service already provided by Dr Rose. The project was an extension of the existing hospital, with a new 1850 m² area comprising 22 new state-of-the-art patient rooms, two operating theatres and a modern office space. The new ward will mainly accommodate musculoskeletal, surgical, gynaecological and urological surgeries, but will also provide the possibility to perform ear, nose and throat and plastic surgery procedures. The Spányi Partners team supported this complex expansion with project management, design advice and technical supervision.
What made the project so special was that we had to build the facility on the 5th floor of a functioning office building. The project focused on the design and construction of the operating theatre block, which in addition to the operating theatres, includes special rooms such as scrubs, prep rooms, scrub wash, sterilisation room and observation room. Exciting technological solutions included fire protection, ventilation and the design of a medical gas network with a gas supply centre.
One of the biggest challenges of the project was adapting the facility to medical technology and meeting the extremely tight deadlines. Nevertheless, the joint work and the constructive atmosphere between the participants allowed the hospital to open on time. We are particularly proud of the high quality of the hospital’s interior design, which is a tribute to the exemplary work of all those involved.
György Szabó led the project as project director, while Soma Pongor as project manager and technical inspector, Miklós Lehoczky as mechanical engineer and technical inspector, and Attila Zsigmond as building services engineer and technical inspector ensured the successful implementation of the project.
