More Than Construction Projects: This Was 2025 at Spányi Partners

In 2025, it once again became clear that everyday life at Spányi Partners is about much more than just construction projects. The past year was highly intensive for us both professionally and in terms of internal transformations and community building, while we also achieved several milestones that we look back on with pride.

PROJECTS WE CAN BE PROUD OF

This year, several iconic developments were completed or reached impressive new stages. The office buildings of Dürer Park were finished, where we were able to work on creating an impressive, sustainable, and people-centered office environment.

We were particularly delighted by the opening of Corvin Palace and, within it, the Time Out Market—a fantastic architectural and, last but not least, gastronomic project, which was also awarded the 2025 Special Prize by Portfolio Ingatlan.

The completion of the Dr. Rose Private Hospital expansion was another important milestone for the team last year. Healthcare projects always carry extra challenges, which can become invaluable experiences during implementation.

In addition, residential parks, logistics centers, and projects close to our hearts such as Leon Hotel & Lounge and Lazy Lion further expanded our portfolio.

ACTIVE PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT

In 2025, we participated in numerous conferences, forums, and professional organizations as speakers, moderators, or experts.
We contributed as speakers at BuildEXT, the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers and its Construction Division roundtable discussions, Portfolio Conferences’ “Construction Industry 2025” panel, Proptech Hungary Conference, Green Engineering Forum panel, RICS Property Talk, and the INFOTÉR CONTECH 2025 Conference.

At Proptech Hungary Conference, we also won a prize with ÉKTR, a recognition of our dedicated work in innovation and data-driven processes.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

We are especially proud that our founding owner, György Spányi, received another two-year mandate as president of the CEEC (The European Council of Construction Economists) at the 92nd Autumn General Assembly, enabling him to continue shaping the future of European cost planning.

As CEEC president last year, he represented the European cost consultancy profession at the congress of The Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) in Jakarta. This international presence is not only a prestigious professional honor for him, but also for us as a company.

One of last year’s most important professional milestones was the initiation of our cooperation with Trebbi Polska, as well as our inclusion in the ICAC (International Construction Advisory Consortium), the European network of engineering consultants.

The aim of this collaboration is to provide world-class and consistently high-quality services to our international partners in the preparation and implementation of construction investments, through sharing industry experiences, coordinated development of technological innovations, and genuine professional unity. We are proud that Spányi Partners can represent Hungary in such a high-level partnership.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE SHARING

At Spányi Partners, we have long believed that shared knowledge is one of our greatest values. At the beginning of last year, we launched an internal lecture series that offers weekly opportunities to learn from one another and share project experiences. We continued our professional development last year, participating in ESG (corporate sustainability) training, a “Lean Management in Construction” workshop, and manufacturer-specific trainings including HERZ valve and Geberit professional programs.

In spring, we launched our Engineer’s Experience program, showing next-generation professionals that engineering is not only about work at the drawing board. During our open office days, we gave students a glimpse into life at an engineering consulting firm.

Knowledge sharing did not stop there: last fall semester, we took part as external lecturers in the classroom education of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE). In classes for BSc Mechanical Engineering and MSc Facility Engineering students, we addressed topics such as biomass utilization, project environment and administration, application of CDE platforms, cost planning and ÉKTR, practical issues of project delivery, 3D laser scanning, and drinking water hygiene. Feedback was expressly positive; both the students and the university look forward to welcoming us again.

ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE THE OFFICE

We find it important that professional development is also based on direct knowledge of production processes and technologies as well as shared experiences. Last year, we undertook several professional trips: in Warsaw we continued and deepened our ICAC-related cooperation with the Trebbi Polska team, and in Amsterdam we became acquainted with the bGrid smart building technology in action. We also participated in factory visits to several local manufacturers and technology partners, and whenever possible, we visited our ongoing or nearly completed projects to see the results of our teamwork firsthand.

Alongside our professional programs, we also made time for some teambuilding both in spring and autumn. These occasions are especially important to us since, at a workplace where most of the team is on projects during the week, every moment when we can be together is rare and valuable—allowing us to focus on one another and our community, not just the tasks at hand.
